Leo and Dorothy Keeler worked with these adorable youngsters long enough to see the personalities emerge. They named the laid-back puppy on the left "Mr. Lazy," as he was content to relax and watch as the other four puppies investigated. He always seemed to be lying down, conserving energy for future adventures. At the time this photo was first shown online, five to six week old wild wolf puppies have only been seen near the park road once in 28 years, making this an extraordinarily rare photo. Tragically, if more protection is not obtained for the Denali wolves, puppies lives will continue to be cut short by hunting and trapping just outside the park's boundaries.
